The Cavz and The King … who’s to be blamed ? May 14, 2010

For all the hype and enthusiasm that the king brought to the floor, I feel he has lost his way / forgot to see the bigger picture. Season after season, Lebron has proved he works harder on his game and works up his numbers both in the game and in the money market. Does the King reign superme when it matters ?
What make him less effective when compared to Kobe/ Dwight/ Durant/ Nash ?

Lebron ” King ” James, is what I call him and what most of his fans do too. Having watched the Cavz get humiliated at Cleaveland in Game 5 of the Eastern conference semi-final, and see James quit on his team, this is not what a “King” does ! For a moment, All I could think of was How Kobe got the Lakers to understand how good he was for the team. But for James, he’s making them look bad and certainly can get a coach fired, for he, simply thought having one of the top five players in the league would help them get to the title. If it was any other day, I would have mentioned Lebron as the best player in the league.

Getting back to the fiasco of James and the Cavs this season, they are only the second team in NBA history to have two consecutive 60+ regular season and not make it to the NBA finals. The other team … that would be a good trivia question ! So what made them unfit for the play-offs ? It’s easy to blame two people for what happened. The King and Coach Mike Brown. Lebron for not showing any determination what soever when they were trashed in game 5. And Mike Brown, for poor people management during games. This would easily be the strongest team Lebron could have asked for, to help him win a championship. And yet, he’s now going to go back home with his agents and create the biggest off season show till the transfer windows open, because you have the King who can move anywhere he wants and establish a new Kingdom, and Yet not win a title.

Kobe and Lebron !

I am a Lebron James fan. Yet, I have come to realize a subtle difference between the arrogance that Kobe and James carry in them. Kobe is arrogant during the game, he’s the tough kid, who’ll go for the toughest shots in the book and make them count. He might be selfish on the field, yet his team knows what the black mamba can do. And for Lebron, he’s nice kid on the field, making his team look good, works hard on his game, for he is not one of the best jump shooters around. But there is an arrogance that the king carries in him, that is not good for him when people start adding stats to the history books. He lacks humbleness. No man is greater than the sport. But Lebron tries so hard to be something that was greater. And it most certainly going to put at a point where he would become one of the greatest player never to win a championship because he was building an empire for himself with big dollar talks and not appreciating a winning team !

And where am I getting at ? what am I trying to say ? I donot know. To see the cavaliers go down without a fight makes me feel sad. But, I hope Lebron James will prove he’s one of the best players in the league by doing what Shaq, Kobe, Wade all have in common.

Congrats Celtics ! and Lebron, you’ll still be the king for one more season !

The sample photos attached to this post, where taken at Lake Raliegh. The camera performs really well at Low Lighting. Yes, the pics are a bit noisy. But can’t argue with the color that it reproduced. For a mobile phone camera, this is awesome.

Finally, I’ve got it !
I’ve been eying to buy this phone ever since it came out in November 2008. A fine camera phone with wifi in it.
Whats special about this phone’s camera. The camera was developed in collaboration with Kodak and it uses Kodak’s Perfect technology, which provides crispier photos. Motorola has done a good work with regards to detailing and the made sure this phone would stand out in the camera phone section.
Call quality is pretty good thanks to Motorola’s Crystaltalk TM technology. Also, this phone uses a standard 3.5mm port for headphones. Another cool feature that this phone carries is, it lets you charge your phone while connecting it to a usb port.
Will be writing more about the wifi, voip performances soon. Also look out for some sample photos too.

” The face shows what the heart knows,
The eyes speaks what the mind thinks “

” A love for life so profound,
A thousand expressions could be bound,
Faithful in heart,
Ignorant in mind,
A million words that deprive
me,
of what I want to write ! “

Hachiko: A Dog’s Story April 26, 2010

There is always a movie that takes you back into your life and reflects your entire memories in seconds, flashing photographs of your life that were stored eternally and stacked up for this moment.

We always claim that human beings are a social animal, yet we have a sense of brutality that very few creatures on earth would dare commit. We make a consious effort to hurt someone/something. We derive our own destiny modifying the course of nature. Somewhere in time we loose the very sense of natural being. An Irony !

There are two other living creatures that are very social (?). Crows and Dogs. I’m going to write about the latter. Dog’s have always been recognized as Man’s best friend. True to the adage, I have personal experience with man’s best friend. Two of them to be precise. Bairava, our grandmother’s pet and browny, who was our apartment complex’s watch dog. Not going into the details, I’ll get into the movie.

Hachiko, is a akita breed dog from japan, who is remembered to this day for his loyalty/ love to his owner.  The movie starts with this lost dog in japan, travelling to the other end of the world only to get lost in train station on it’s way. It may have been his destiny to find Mr.Parker Wilson, a college professor. The story travels with two becoming best friends, and there is a sense of unconditional love and loyalty the two shared.  Everyday, Hachiko would wait outside the trainstation, where his friend would get back from work.

Trajedy struck the Wilson family when one day, Parker suffered cardiac arrest at work. For Hachiko, his friend never got back from work that day. He waited all night long for him. Finally, Parker’s son-in-law comes to take Hachiko home.  In the events to come, Mrs. Parker sells the house they lived in, Hachiko moves in with Parker’s daughter and their child. But for Hachiko, there was only one thing that meant more than anything else, ” to wait outside the train station everyday for his master “. The whole community knew Hachiko, and would feed him everyday has he waited for his eternal friend. As the days passed, Hachiko started taking shelter under a broken train carriage, and always waiting at his usual spot waiting for his friend.

Days, weeks, years passed, but Hachiko would everyday wait outside the train station. After a decade, Mrs.Parker returns to town to visit Parker’s grave. On her way to thier old home, she is stunned to find Hachi, still waiting at the station. Moved by the scence, Mrs. Parker sits next to Hachi and waits for the next train with him. Mrs. Parker returns home that night and tells Hachi’s story to her grandson.

The same night, Hachiko waits till the last train and then closes his eyes at his usual spot for one last time dreaming being together with his  friend. The movie ends with Parker’s grandson narrating Hachi’s story in class.

Hachi, was a symbol of loyalty to a friend he loved. ” You should never forget anyone you love “.  The music complements the movie so well. I was moved to tears when Mrs. Parker realizes how much Hachi was loyal. Man tends conciously make certain memories fade in time. But for Hachi and my grandmother’s pet, their love/loyalty were eternal. Time meant nothing in their world. I’m in tears once again as I write this post.

Hachiko, A dog’s story will always be a movie that would stand apart in my list of favorite movies, for it’s more than a movie. It’s a part of life.
